Sphere 2: Vision

A Roadmap for Entrepreneurs Who Want to Make an Impact. A vision is the driving force behind every business.

Vision as a Driving Force

A vision is the driving force behind every company. It is the spark that turns an idea into a project and a project into a company. But visions do not arise in comfort. They emerge in moments when something is at stake—during crises, during bottlenecks, in situations where the old way no longer works.

The story of Swatch illustrates this impressively. In the 1970s, the Swiss watch industry was on the brink of collapse. Cheap quartz watches from Asia were flooding the market, and traditional companies were fighting for survival. Yet it was precisely during this crisis that one of the boldest ideas in Swiss economic history emerged: a watch that was not a luxury item, but a lifestyle statement. A watch that was not expensive, but affordable. A watch that embodied not tradition, but the future.

This vision was radical. It challenged everything the industry had previously considered set in stone. And that is precisely why it worked. Innovation doesn’t arise from optimizing what already exists, but from being willing to question it.

Entrepreneurs who develop visions do something crucial:

They accept reality—but they do not define it as a limit.

They see problems—but they recognize them as raw material for solutions.

They feel pressure—but they transform it into energy.

Vision and innovation go together like the sun and growth. A vision without innovation remains a dream. Innovation without vision remains a coincidence. Only the combination of these two forces creates companies that transform markets and open up new paths.

Every crisis holds the potential for a vision. The question isn’t whether challenges will arise—they’re guaranteed to. The question is whether we see them as obstacles or as an invitation to think bigger.

In my book, *The 10 Commandments for Entrepreneurs*, I guide you through the most important areas of business management. Written in simple language so you can put the ideas into practice right away.
