It is important to know my sources. This doesn’t just apply to water. It is especially true for mental nourishment. What thoughts am I occupying my brain with?
Wrong thoughts are harmful, good thoughts are refreshing.
I am the source of the thoughts in my books and in my blog. That’s why I want to give you an insight into me and my career. I want you to find out what traces life has left in me and what traces I have left in others.
Mario Brühlmann is an experienced entrepreneur who has steered his successful career in a new direction following the sale of his companies. As the former owner of Swisscreate, he has realized numerous projects and implemented his visions in various management roles. Today, he makes his decades of experience available to young people and the young at heart through his books, lectures and blog.
Mario Brühlmann was born on 14.12.1951 into a family of entrepreneurs in Appenzell. As a child, he learned that self-employment doesn’t stop at 5 p.m. and that all family members have to work in the business – even the little ones. That didn’t do him any harm.
In 1962, however, he also had to learn how quickly you can lose everything material. With a second business – a small textile factory – the family sank into bankruptcy with a total loss. Mario had to learn to live in poverty. This experience was hard and humiliating. However, it was extremely helpful for his later work as a management consultant for small and medium-sized enterprises. He was able to learn to look at difficulties from a new perspective.
His business studies and later EMBA training gave him the tools to become a manager, entrepreneur and management consultant. As an executive, he worked at management level in companies operating throughout Switzerland and worldwide. He has worked as an IT manager, head of finance, head of marketing and head of human resources. As an entrepreneur, he founded several companies. And as a management consultant, he has supported numerous companies through difficult phases in their lives.
In addition to his consultancy work in Switzerland, he was involved in development projects in Romania, Moldova, Albania, Bulgaria, Nepal, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Vietnam for over thirty years. He helped to set up companies and create jobs in all of these countries. Thousands of SMEs are now operating independently and creating tens of thousands of jobs. Helping people to help themselves works.
Since his official “retirement”, he has increasingly devoted himself to helping young people find a suitable career and trained professionals develop into outstanding employees.
Finally, the most important thing. In 1971, Mario had a spiritual experience that strongly influenced the rest of his career. He was approached by cheerful young Christians on the street and inspired to put his Christian faith on a very personal and practical footing with God. This deep bond continues to this day – through all the good and difficult times.
