Mountain boots from outstanding people.
Mountain boots from Andrea Vogel, extreme mountaineer, on the ascent to Pik Kommunismus at 7495 m in the Pamir Mountains together with Russian mountaineering star Mischa Turkiewitsch.
My question is this:
Standing out from the average – is that necessary?
Over the past 30 years, I have been able to guide and support thousands of entrepreneurs in setting up and expanding their companies. What was and is the key to their success? You have to stand out from the competition in some way. That’s called excellence.
The same principle also applies to people who want to be fulfilled and successful in their profession. With my blog posts, I share inspiration for actively shaping professional development. In doing so, I follow my motto “More and better“. This is the basic principle of healthy growth. Striving for more pay and better employment conditions absolutely have their place here. But it is about much more. More modesty, more composure, more competence as well as better manners, better health and a better relationship environment contribute a lot to a fulfilling professional life.
This picture with the mountain boots was a gift to me from the extreme mountaineer Andrea Vogel, who sadly died far too early. It was taken in the Pamir Mountains on a climb to one of the highest mountains in the world. This picture is filled with symbolism and inspiration.
Mountaineering has also played an important role in my life. At school and university, I learned a lot of mostly valuable specialist knowledge. On mountain tours, I learned the practical application in good and bad weather – in fascinating and frightening situations. The most difficult lessons had to do with risk management. This is the most important topic in business management and in private life. That’s why I often address it in my blogs and books. Those who are excellent at dealing with risks are always in demand everywhere.
